Samsung does not step up

Ok so after all this I should be getting a tv in 2 days. A trucking company is to call (they haven't) so I deiced to call. Well the TV they had in stock that they were going to send to me, is not no longer in stock and will not be relplaced. Instead I can get a 46 " LCD (10 inches smaller and LOWER QULITY).

What really gets me is they know this and didn't even bother to call. Guess they were hoping the 1 year mark would pass then it's not there problem.

Last time I will buy Samsung, hope you enjoy my money! Last you will ever see of it!

And the "Stuff" goes round

Ok a follow up to the previous email. I asked it smaller, less picture quality, and brand name equaled a fair swap. the responce I got is below

Barney,

Thanks for following up with me. I was glad to hear that you were able to find the TV you were looking for through Samsung.
Our Performance Service Plans only cover replacements through Best Buy so if you are working directly with the Manufacturer
it would not cover it. However, you always have the option to return your Performance Service Plan for a pro-rated refund.

I truly apologize for your frustrations and I appreciate you supplying me with your address; I will get that $75 Gift
Card submitted for processing right away and you can be expecting it in your mail within 15 business days. You are a great
customer of ours and welcome any opportunity to improve your experience with us. Feel free to write again if you have any
other questions or concerns, Barney.

All the Best,
K***

My return response

K***:

The model HL56A650 was being sold in your store. I was the TV next to
the one I bought (I like the slimmer lines of the one I bought).
The only reason I am working with the Manufacturer is the tv is still
under there warranty and the Mt Juliet store could not order it.
This I don't understand as why Samsung has them but you all can not order them.

Let me guess pro-rated refund "Performance Service Plan" will be in
the form of a gift card only usable at Best Buy?

Sincerely
Barney Alder

Finally a reply from Best Buy

Hello *******,

I was sorry to read about the frustrations you have been experiencing with your TV exchange situation. I can certainly understand why you would want the exact same TV for the exchange however I would really appreciate the opportunity to explain why that might not be an option.

When a TV gets authorized for exchange, we typically offer you the credit for the current value of the TV. In other words, you would be getting the amount that the TV would be worth today because as technology advances, the value of older technology depreciates. I was also informed by a store manager in the *******, TN store that manufacturers are actually making less DLP TVs so it would likely be hard to find one of the exact same quality and size as yours. I know that you are good customer of ours and I want to offer you a $75 Best Buy Gift Card to help out with the TV purchase. I truly want you to have the best shopping experience with Best Buy possible and to enjoy future experiences as well. If you would like to accept this offer, please let me know by responding to this email and including your current MAILING ADDRESS for our verification.

Thank you for taking the time to write us and I look forward to hearing back from you!

Best Regards,

My Response (after i fixed a few spelling & word problems. Never type angry.)

Hello ****:

So smaller in size, lower in picture quality, and lesser in brand name
means a fair exchange in your book?
I wanted my money back so I could got to another store, you all did
not have/offer, or could not order DLP any more.
The night I tried to return this TV, your lead customer person (****)
could not order the HL56A650 from Samsung for some reason.
When I called Samsung they have them, in stock. They were very
apologetic and are sending me one now as we converse through
email.

I am curious thou about the 4 yr service plan, will it cover the
replacement tv or have I just lost it ?

Samsung Steps up

After call and answering emails from Worst Buy (I mean Best Crud, er Best Buy). I called the manufacture of the tv. Yes my model is no longer being made, they have improved it and made a new model. Better picture, better quality, and price. But they are sending me the newer model in exchange for mine that is not working. So I get a better tv out of all this.

So I will stay with Samsung equipment but I will not ever shop at Best Crap, er Worst Buy, er Best Buy.

Do NOT SHOP AT BEST BUY!!

Normally I would not go into this but hey I have been nice about it too long.
On 5/25/08 I bought a Samsung 56" DLP tv. It was GREAT for a while the the light started going out. You would be watching the tv and Poof! Light OUT! The TV would try to restart and sometimes it would and some times it took an hour. I bought the repair plan so I called for repair. Skip ahead 8 time (8 different time I called and got some to come out for repair) and the tv has not worked since Nov 5 2008. The Best Buy protection plan says ".. any 4 repairs for the same problem" and I can turn it as a lemon. Well I have 8 (7 of which I have tickets for). Best Buy now says there awaiting on Samsung (because it's less than a year old). I call Samsung and give them the SN of the TV, they have not heard any thing about it. After I fax all 7 of the repair tickets I have, they decide it is bad (REALLY?????). They (Samsung) is going to ship an newer model out to in 7 days. I call 12 days later to see what is wrong. Well seams it "hung" in there system, so instead I am going to get an RMA and I just need to take it back to Best Buy. Ok I have my RMA, TV, power cord, and remote off to Best Buy. They punch up it up and guess what, they don't have ANY DLP tv's there. Plasma (nope don't want it) and LCD (smaller and nope don't want it). Only other option a gift card to Best Buy for the amount of my tv purchase. WTF??? I don't want to buy 232.47 Blenders!! I want a TV. They do not refund money at all. The ONLY OFFER THEY MADE ON A SWAP WAS FOR A SMALLER LCD . So I hope Best Buy enjoys the money I spent there because I will not ever go in or spend a single penny there in the future!
